Chlorine-free, Transparent, Active Sulfur Cutting Oil

Product features:

• The Transultex® CF series of transparent, light colored, anti-mist, chlorine-free, active sulfur cutting machine oils.

• Transultex® CF is designed for moderate to severe machining operations.

• Transultex® CF is available in different EP levels, fatty oil contents and viscosity grades to cover a wide variety of applications and metals, particularly those where contact with chlorine must be avoided, or where oils containing chlorine may present a waste or storage problem.

Increased tool life

Special active sulfur EP additive system reacts at the chip-tool interface under conditions of high temperatures and pressures to form an extremely effective boundary lubricating film which prevents metal-to-metal contact and reduces tool wear

More efficient machining

Protective film formed by the combined EP and fatty oil additive systems inhibits welding of metal to the tool point and lowers frictional forces, resulting in less heat generation, reduction in built-up-edge, higher machining speeds, and closer tolerances. The light colored appearance permits a clear view of the tool and workpiece.

Improved surface finish

Combination of active sulfur with fatty oil additives increase the oil’s wetting and oiliness characteristics to provide better lubricity for improved surface finish of workpieces. The excellent cooling properties are beneficial in minimizing overheating and “blueing” of parts and chips at today’s high speed machining conditions.

Lower maintenance costs

Effective anti-mist additive reduces mist formation around the machine which improves shop safety and cleanliness, and lowers machine maintenance costs. The special oily formulation provides effective rust and corrosion protection of the workpiece, cutting tool and machine.

Applications

• Moderate to severe machining operations on a wide variety of materials, particularly those such as titanium, where there may be stress cracking or staining due to reaction with chlorine.

• Transultex CF A (low viscosity): Deep hole drilling, grinding and other operations where a low viscosity cutting oil would be preferred.

Not for use where staining of copper and its alloys is a concern. Aquatex and Cleartex are recommended for such applications.
